January 31, 1996 Lost and Found: A California Souzao According to state agricultural statistics, there's no more Souzao (Soo-zauw) grown in California, but that hasn't stopped Bill Knuttel. He and his partners at Tria have found a few acres of the red grape growing in Monterey County and they've bottled it as a Port, which sells for $12 in a half-bottle size.
