
September 15, 1995 Grapevine On July 4, Chicago chef Charlie Trotter celebrated Independence Day by becoming the first American to cook at the Veuve Clicquot Champagne house in Reims, France. Trotter's main dishes included Scottish salmon and Atlantic oysters with ginger-hijiki-mirin broth matched with a Veuve Clicquot Brut Rosé Réserve 1975.
