June 15, 1995 Canoe Ridge Materializes in Walla Walla With Chardonnay, Will Soon Release a Merlot Washington state's most anticipated winery is now more than just a concept. Canoe Ridge Vineyard released its first estate-produced and -bottled wine last month, marking the final step in the debut of the long-awaited venture between California's Chalone Wine Group and other investors, including star Washington winemaker Rick Small.
