January 31, 1995 Grapevine * Despite the worst floods of the century in Italy's Piedmont region in early November, all but a few of the region's wineries and vineyards escaped unscathed. Most Piedmontese wineries are located on hillsides, and thus were spared the flooding that occurred on lower ground.
