In the past 12 months, Wine Spectator has highlighted top Bordeaux and Burgundy, prime examples of New York Riesling and California Zinfandel and undiscovered gems such as South African Chenin Blanc and Nerello Mascarese from southern Italy. In all, our editors sampled wines from 29 countries. Although iconic wines grab a lot of the attention, we are equally excited to present wines that offer quality and value, as well as good availability, and we make a point of spotlighting new discoveries.
