Scholarship Foundation Donates $1 Million to Education

FIU hospitality school will train students in Wine Spectator Restaurant Management Lab

The Wine Spectator Scholarship Foundation is donating $1 million to Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, a leading institution for food-and-beverage education-a gift that could help train the restaurateurs of tomorrow. The hospitality program, consistently rated as one of the best in the nation, has more than 1,500 students in undergraduate and graduate programs at its North Miami campus and another 1,000 at a campus in the port city of Tianjin, China. The school established the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, with the help of Southern Wine & Spirits, to raise money for its efforts. Associate editor Mitch Frank reports.
