Having first moved to France in 1986 with her husband, Pierre, Melissa Brondeau says that her love of wine developed gradually. Much of it was spurred when she began to embrace the French lifestyle. Though she began collecting in small quantities while living in Paris, it wasn't until she and Pierre moved back to the United States that she began collecting more seriously, and decided to deepen her knowledge of wine. After completing a series of classes at the Wine School of Philadelphia, her plans for the wine collection, as well as her ideas for the physical cellar, began to take shape. Wine Spectator's Lizzie Munro explains.
