Settling on a suitably sized collection sometimes requires a period of trial and error, as Michael Adamson has found over his 30 years of collecting wine. When he and his family moved into their new home six years ago, he decided to scale down his wine collection, which he'd previously stored in a temperature-controlled walk-in cellar equipped for 1,500 bottles.
