Wally's Expands Into New York Auctions

Los Angeles-based retailer taps former Zachys executives

The national wine auction market is about to get more competitive. A new team at Wally's Wine Auctions, headed by executives hired away from New York-based Zachys in June, is poised to enter the New York auction arena, currently dominated by Acker Merrall & Condit, Christie's, Sotheby's and Zachys. Wine Spectator's Peter Hellman reports.
