In California wine country, Mendocino County stands proudly at the frontier. Not only is it the Golden State's most remote and northernmost wine region, its culture stands in contrast to its more well-known neighbors, Napa and Sonoma. Life moves at a slower pace in Mendocino, and the mind-set is sometimes unconventional, even eccentric. That's what makes a tour of Mendocino all the more tempting.
