
The Wine Spectator Auction Index, which tracks sales at fine-wine auctions in the U.S., was virtually unchanged, rising just .02 percent in the fourth quarter of 2012. Minuscule as the gain was, it marks a halt to consecutive declines over the past six quarters. Most auction executives now feel the market may have gained stability.
