
Sometimes, it seems, a wine region can have it all. Take France's Rhône Valley, the focus of our cover package this issue. This sprawling wine region routinely makes outstanding reds, whites and rosés. It excels with many different grapes, from Syrah to Grenache, Viognier to Roussanne. And in 2010, both of its principal sections—the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône—enjoyed classic vintages, perhaps their best twin performance since 1990.
