
Leslie Alexander has found success in pursuing his passions. The Bronx, N.Y.-born billionaire, 69, first prospered as a bond and options trader on Wall Street, then became a venture capitalist. He owns the Houston Rockets basketball team. In 2002, Alexander bought 22 acres on the North Fork of Long Island and planted it to vines under the guidance of California viticulturist David Abreu. He met with Wine Spectator's Peter Hellman.
