At Vieux Château Certan, Alexandre Thienpont toils to perfect one of Bordeaux’s subtle greats

Alexandre Thienpont is in serious danger of getting stuck in the mud. Thienpont, the man in charge of Pomerol's Vieux Château Certan (VCC), is taking some visitors on a tour of the vineyards. Thienpont is conducts the tour by driving down a path through the vines in a beaten old hatchback. Wine Spectator's Mitch Frank explains.
