When someone pays tens of millions of dollars for a boutique winery in Napa Valley, there are plenty of ways to look at it. For one, it essentially means that with that kind of money on the table, everything is for sale. Who would turn down a reported $40 million for a 12-acre, 600-case operation, even if the Cabernet sells for $600 a bottle? Wine Spectator's James Laube explains.
