Chef Guy Savoy's ultraluxe outpost in Las Vegas recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, and has by all accounts been a soaring success complete with plaudits from critics, packed houses and a Wine Spectator Grand Award for its wine list. But conquering America was no sure thing. Wine Spectator's Sam Gugino explains.
