A California winemaker shares her handmade kitchen

Wine Spectator's MaryAnn Worobiec explains that cooking has always been important to St. Francis winemaker Heather Munden, who grew up in Marin, CA. Before a public lecture by Robert Mondavi inspired her to pursue winemaking ("I was mesmerized," she says), Munden trained as a chef and worked in the kitchens of several restaurants and catering companies. Naturally, then, when Munden bought a 70-year-old house near downtown Napa in 2004, designing a kitchen and entertaining space to host her frequent dinner parties ("the larger the better") was a top priority.
