
The pilfered grapes in Washington and Languedoc are the first cases Wine Spectator can recall of actual tons of grapes being stolen off the vines. But wineries are no stranger to crime, though safety is a much bigger concern at harvest, when staff members are working long, hard hours. Wine Spectator associate editor Mitch Frank explains.
