Economists hoped we Americans would spend our way out of the Great Recession. That hasn't happened, at least not yet. Vintners, for their part, may well hope Americans can drink our way out of the great wine logjam. No serious wine lover is going to stop drinking wine, and in fact, many people may be drinking more because of the recession. However, many also are reassessing their needs, scaling back on expensive wines or wines they're long on.
