
The current release vintages of white Burgundy-2007 and 2008-offer both character and quality. Fans of Chardonnay should take advantage of these two recent years, especially if the price is right. Unfortunately, that may be easier said than done, given white Burgundy's overall lofty retail cost, though intrepid bargain-hunters will find a few bright spots among the current releases, including 2008s from Chablis, Chassagne-Montrachet and the region's perennial value source of Mâcon.
