
Sine Qua Non fans are intrigued by what the sly messages on the wines' labels may reveal about their maker, Manfred Krankl, a man who has an uncanny knack for stimulating interest in his wines before they're even opened. It's one mailing list most people won't quit, because no one wants to miss the next act. And no wonder, with wine names such as Heels Over Head; Stripes and Stars; and Boots, Pasties, Scanty Panties and a Ten-Gallon Hat (this last a late-harvest Roussanne that's a reference to a Texas stripper).
