Three recent books about Italy share similar cover images: stone buildings set on hills surrounded by vines, caressed by golden sunlight. The tales within are similar, too, as these American authors seek love and fulfillment in a country they find more engaging and more authentic. But their voices are strikingly different, and each reveals distinctive aspects of Italian culture.
