
Chateau & Estate Wines, a U.S. importer and division of British drinks giant Diageo, is abandoning Bordeaux after more than three decades and selling off its stock at a huge discount. The decision by one of the world's biggest buyers of Bordeaux wines to essentially walk away is roiling the market as the region prepares for the 2009 vintage futures campaign.
