Make-or-Break Wine Prices

As this column went to press late in August, California’s six-month grapegrowing season was winding down. But the real test was yet to come—the final month or so, before the grapes come off the vine. While nature can provide an obstacle course up until then, if the weather cooperates down the homestretch, there is hope for a successful vintage. Fall is just as crucial for wine sales, and more so this year due to the economic climate.
