
I have to admit that for a long time I thought an assortment of glass choices was extremely cool, maybe even scientific. Glassmakers insisted that they had researched the subject and determined that different wines definitely showed better in specially shaped glasses, whether visually, aromatically, or in how the vessel delivered the wine to your palate. Wineries and restaurants bought into this thinking in a big way.
