Auction Index Continues to Fall
The Wine Spectator Auction Index fell 9.4 percent to 256 in the first half of 2009 from 283 in the second half of 2008. The 27-point drop marks the index’s third straight period of decline from a record high of 338 in the second half of 2007, and places the value of the index at a level not seen since the first half of 2006.
