If wine were theater, Zinfandel would never get a lead role. Bordeaux or Chardonnay would play all the juicy parts. But Zinfandel would get solid billing as the plucky sidekick. It appeals with its robust red fruit and spice rack of aromas and flavors, spunky and eccentric, youthful and exuberant.
