
With the 2008 Bordeaux barrel tastings complete, major U.S. retailers are beginning to offer the wines to consumers as futures. So far, the prices for the 2008 Bordeaux first-growths range from $195 to $230, about 60 percent to 75 percent lower than the opening prices for the 2006s and 2005s. The 1995 vintage, which rated 96 points for the Left Bank, is a case in point.
