
Some people may not think of a seven-course seafood dinner as abstinence, but that is how many Italians around the world see it on Christmas Eve. The Feast of the Seven Fishes, or il cenone della vigilia in Italian, takes place during the vigil, or time of reflection, before Christmas Day.
