
The 1999 vintage in Côte-Rôtie is one of the best in recent memory. Only 2005, 2003 and 1990 are in the same qualitative class, though each has a very different style. The '99s combine the structure of the wines from 1990 with a level of pure, lush fruit that is unique to the younger vintage.
