Washington Goes from Strength to Strength
As the state's reds motor on, more regions make an impact
A significant milestone was reached last year when the number of Washington wineries surpassed 500. That's still just a fraction of California's total, but considering that only 200 wineries dotted the state as recently as 2002, it helps explain why the quality of wine from this Pacific Northwest state has been rising so dramatically.
