
Mother Nature reached deep into her bag of nasty tricks in Australia in 2008, pulling out heat, frost, snow, drought, floods and even bushfires. (See the harvest report on page 14 for more details.) But winemakers may have a bigger worry: what if future vintages bring more of the same? The past few years of drought are threatening to impair the growth of the industry at a time when exports are already down.
