In American cities lately, it seems that tapas bars are sprouting like mushrooms after a rainstorm. But relatively few are worth the hunt, so it's a pleasure to find one that gets it right. Bar Pintxo, which opened this past December two blocks from the Santa Monica Pier, is a small, inviting place with only 30 seats, where close quarters and dark wood tones foster warm conviviality.
