Navarro: Pop. 67." So reads the sign marking the northern limit of Anderson Valley. Other than a nearby general store with a life-size wooden carving of a one-armed grocer draped with a string of sausages, there are few human inroads into the dense groves of redwoods separating the valley from the Pacific coast.
