
Burgundy has been the big catch at wine auctions recently—the top target for serious collectors who love rare, outstanding wines. According to the Wine Spectator Burgundy Index, which tracks the auction performance of a selection of highly traded labels, Burgundies has outpaced every other category of wine since the beginning of 2002 and has skyrocketed in value during the past three and a half years, rising 127 percent.
