
San Jose, a city bigger than San Francisco, anchors Silicon Valley at the southern end of the Bay Area. It has population and wealth, and abuts a modest but historic wine region, Santa Cruz Mountains. But unlike its neighbor to the north, San Jose rarely attracts nonlocals to its restaurants.
