California Syrah's Big Push
The Central Coast leads the way among the Golden State's Rhône-style reds
Syrah has posted another stellar performance in California, where this Rhône Valley transplant is more than pulling its weight. The variety remains the quality leader among the state's Rhône-style wines, a category that also includes a great new crop of Grenaches and some sturdy Petite Sirahs, all of them showing impressive quality across California's major fine-wine appellations.
