
Syrah has posted another stellar performance in California, where this Rhône Valley transplant is more than pulling its weight. The variety remains the quality leader among the state's Rhône-style wines, a category that also includes a great new crop of Grenaches and some sturdy Petite Sirahs, all of them showing impressive quality across California's major fine-wine appellations.
