
After 44 vintages, the technical director of Château Pétrus in Pomerol has decided to retire. The 2007 vintage is to be his last. Berrouet has made wine at Pétrus since 1964. The bottling from that year was a blockbuster (and still is, with an average auction price of $1,641 per bottle), and its wines since then have become prized collectibles.
