2005 delivers amazing quality up and down the Rhone Valley

Since my last report on the Rhône Valley (" Split Personality in the Rhône ," Nov. 15, 2006), I have reviewed more than 650 bottled wines in blind tastings in our New York office and have also made two trips to the region to taste hundreds of additional wines, both in barrel and in bottle, in producers' cellars.
