
It's 8:45 a.m. and I'm in the crowded lunchroom of Browne Trading Co. in Portland, Maine, with owner Rod Mitchell and his staff for the daily production meeting. A few weeks earlier, a nor'easter ripped off the building's roof, damaging several offices, including the usual meeting place.
