
Jane Goodall is best known for her pioneering studies of the chimpanzees at Gombe on Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania, which she began nearly 50 years ago. For her work she has received such decorations as United Nations Messenger of Peace, French Legion of Honor, the Kyoto Prize and more.
