Record prices set for '82 Lafite, '96 Margaux; 2000 first-growths surge in value
The 2007 auction season began exactly as the 2006 ended: with scorching hot sales. While fewer six-digit trophy lots were up for grabs—notwithstanding a case of six magnums of Château Mouton-Rothschild 1945 that sold at Zachys for a hefty $201,450—a slate of high-end collectibles fetched strong prices that often surpassed presale estimates.
