
California Cabernets have been a staple of the U.S. auction market ever since its inception. According to the Wine Spectator auction database, in the first half of 2006 alone 16,392 bottles of California Cabernet Sauvignon were sold at auction-about 12 percent of all wines that went on the block nationwide.
