Richard Branson, 56, is known for his unorthodox business methods, flamboyant publicity stunts and entrepreneurial spirit. In 1970, he founded Virgin as a mail-order record company; in 1992, he sold the Virgin Music Group to Thorn EMI for $1 billion.
