San Francisco Hotels: A Bevy of Top Hotels

There's such a thing as too many choices. San Francisco has so dizzying an array of hotels that it can be a challenge to home in on ideal accommodations. How do you choose, for example, between jaw-dropping views of the bay from a soaring high-rise and the gilded splendor of a Victorian mansion built with Gold Rush riches? The city itself occupies a mere 45 square miles, but it is crammed with diverse neighborhoods, each with its own feel.
