Wine Talk Tom Hinkle Tom Hinkle, 63, signed a contract to play Major League Baseball for the Detroit Tigers in 1963. He played in the minors for a few years, and then became a teacher and coach at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, in California's Central Coast.
