< Renowned Burgundy vintner Denis Mortet died on Jan. 30 after shooting himself with a rifle in the parking lot outside his winery in Gevrey-Chambertin. He was 51. Mortet had become a star in the 14 years since he split the family's vineyard holdings with his brother, Thierry, and established Domaine Denis Mortet, focusing on single-vineyard wines from the 28.
