Charity auctions raise the stakes
Things heated up quickly under the tent at the 2005 Naples Winter Wine Festival, and it wasn't because of the Florida weather. By the time the last gavel fell, the charity auction had raised a staggering $11 million in live bids—an increase of more than $4 million from the previous year's total.
