2003 Burgundy
A record-breaking heat wave produces extraordinary ripeness
Fasten your seat belts, Burgundy lovers. You're in for a wild ride. Scorching summer temperatures, especially in August, were a hallmark of the 2003 vintage and produced wines of profound ripeness. In fact, the year saw the earliest harvests on record; you'd have to go back to 1893 to find one that commenced as early.
