The Fallout From Mondavi

Constellation sells off Luce, Arrowood and Byron; more wineries could follow

Now that Constellation Brands has completed its takeover of Robert Mondavi Corp., the alcohol-beverage giant is shedding brands other than the key Mondavi and Woodbridge labels. Among them are Luce della Vite in Tuscany, which is being taken over by joint-venture partner Marchesi de' Frescobaldi for an undisclosed amount, and California's small Arrowood and Byron wineries, which Napa Valley—based Legacy Estates Group is buying for $40 million.
